The most common neoplasms in women
It also turns out that the most common among women is breast cancer. The incidence of colorectal cancer was the second highest group of this disease, while lung cancer was the third most common.

Breast cancer accounted for approx. 22% of the diagnoses issued among women in the last five years. The highest detection rate was recorded in women aged 50 to 69. In Fortel Ursin's opinion, this is the result of introducing free mammography for women of this age. Therefore, the detectability after the age of 70 drops drastically.
Colon cancer
Detection of the presence of colorectal cancer, in turn, accounted for approx. 10% of detected cases in women. However, as it turned out, Norway is one of the countries where this disease is most common. According to Fortel Ursina, this type of cancer is a cause for concern. Primarily because the incidence of this disease has increased dramatically since 1990. Most often it affects people over 73 years of age.

Lung cancer
In terms of the period 2008-2012 and 2013-2017, the number of diagnoses for lung cancer also increased. In the last five years, nearly 9,7% of detected tumors were those found in the lungs. According to Fortel Ursina, the main reason is the aging society. As he claims, the risk group increases in direct proportion to age.
Cancer cases in men
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed among men, accounting for approximately 28,4% of all cases. Lung cancer comes second, followed by colorectal cancer.

Lung cancer
Lung cancer accounted for 9,3% of all diagnosed cancer cases among men, and here also a decrease was recorded compared to the previous period, when the percentage was 10%. However, in absolute numbers, the number of patients is still growing - in 2008-2012 there were 7 patients, while in 801-2013 it was already 2017 patients.
Colon cancer
Colorectal cancer accounted for 7,9% of all diagnoses - the incidence of this disease is comparable, for example, to Denmark. Interestingly, most of the cases were recorded in Western Norway and were associated with the presence of oil in the digestive system. This issue requires more in-depth analysis, but it cannot be ruled out that the mining industry has an impact on the incidence.
