Back from vacation. A British family returns from a holiday organized by the TUI travel agency. The ticket costs £1300. The family is given seats 41D, E and F and after boarding the plane they realize that they are already occupied. The lack of seats means that the family has to spend the flight on the floor of the plane. “We couldn't believe it,” the mother commented in the British Independent newspaper.

Poor TUI solution
As soon as it became known that the plane did not have enough free space to sit, the deck staff began to look for a solution. It turned out that the plane had one more, last vacant seat, where it was proposed that the couple's 10-year-old daughter would spend the journey. Her parents were offered two folding chairs, which deck staff usually sit on during flights. During the flight, the couple was politely asked to leave these two places because airline employees needed a place to prepare food and drink for the rest of the passengers. Therefore, the couple found the only free space, which was the floor. Moments later their 10-year-old daughter joined them, who did not want to spend the flight alone.

“Gesture of goodwill” - 30 pounds
When the Taylors landed safely in Birmingham, they asked the TUI travel agency to clarify the matter and compensate them for their losses. TUI showed a "gesture of goodwill" to the family and refunded them £30. Mr and Mrs Taylor were not happy with the progress of the case, so they contacted the office again travel for a full refund ticket. Fortunately, TUI accepted this request. This is not the end of the matter, however, because the Civil Aviation Office claims that, according to the rules, aircraft passengers cannot be left without staff supervision at any stage of the flight, therefore they will contact TUI on this matter to obtain clarification.
