Our article today is about the Lofsrud School in Mortensrud. About 370 students study at this institution. The school has been struggling with the problem of violence, drugs, fights and threats in the student community for a long time. Acts of verbal, mental and physical violence are directed primarily at students of the youngest grades. Extorting cards in canteens, blackmail - this is everyday life at school. Criminal youth groups are emerging in the district and they are extorting the local community. “Do you want to enjoy peace and quiet at school and beyond? You have to pay us!” – this is how local youth gangs operate. Can anything be done about this?

Crime in the local community is increasing. Weaker, less resistant students are victims of extortion, intimidation and blackmail. What causes young people to go astray? Experts say the main reason is the rising level of poverty in the area. There are more and more families poor. There's no money. The level of pathology is also increasing - parents they abuse alcohol or are simply not interested in their children. Frustration young people makes violence, in their eyes, the only correct solution. It's very sad.

School safety fees. Despite difficult situation many students still feel good at this school. emphasize that they value its diversity above all. There are also students who cannot stand the pressure and change educational institutions. This is said by the recent director of the school, Per Øyvind Hammerstad, who also said goodbye to its walls.

“Some of them gave the reason for leaving Lofsrud School that they did not feel safe here. And it's not only about the sense of threat they experience at school, but also in its surroundings.
