2020th edition for Polish Diaspora and Poles abroad 2021/XNUMX
We cordially invite you to participate in the 2020th edition of the Olympiad of Polish History for Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad 2021/XNUMX "On the way to Independence".
The Olympics of Polish History is an initiative of the Polish Historical Society organized by the Freedom and Democracy Foundation. The aim of the Olympics is to popularize knowledge about the history of Poland among young people living and learning outside Poland. As well as developing interests, shaping and strengthening historical awareness of young people, and thus supporting Polish identity abroad.
Over 1500 participants have participated in previous editions
The participants came from such countries as: Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, France and Greece. Due to the coronovirus epidemic (SARS-CoV-2), stage I exams will be held online via a specially created examination platform. It will be on November 28, 2020, hence we cordially invite young people and institutions around the world to participate.

Our partners
Permanent partners of the Olympiad are the Department of Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Center for the Development of Polish Education Abroad, and the Institute of National Remembrance. The project is co-financed by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister as part of the public task of helping the Polish diaspora and Poles abroad. The main prize for the group of winners of the Olympiad of Polish History are indexes for Polish state universities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has once again become a partner 5th edition of the History Olympiad Poland for the Polish community and Poles abroad 2020/2021 "On the way to Independence" organized by the Freedom and Democracy Foundation and the Polish Historical Society. This year's edition of the Olympics will, for the first time, be addressed to schoolchildren, regardless of their country of residence. Due to the global pandemic situation, all stages of the Olympiad can be conducted online using the platform created by the Foundation. The project is co-financed by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister as part of the public task of helping the Polish diaspora and Poles abroad.
The goal of the Olympics
The aim of the Olympics is to popularize knowledge about the history of Poland among living and studying youth outside Poland, developing historical interests and creating conditions for deepening the knowledge and skills of students in the field of Polish history, as well as for shaping and strengthening historical awareness of young people, and thus supporting Polish identity abroad.
Awards
The main prize for a group of laureates, there are indexes that allow you to study at Polish universities. In this edition, you can choose from indices, among others Jagiellonian University, University of Lublin Maria Curie-Skłodowska, the University of Opole and the University of Warmia and Mazury. In addition, material prizes are provided for the participants of the third stage. A few-day stay in Poland, if the pandemic situation allows it. Written test is planned for the XNUMXst stage of the Olympiad is on November 28, 2020. The second stage will take place indicatively in March 2021.
