Extended deadline for submitting property and income tax returns

The coronavirus pandemic has led to an increased workload for accountants and auditors. The Ministry of Finance therefore allows entrepreneurs to apply for an extended deadline for submitting tax returns property and income tax. (formues- og inntektsskatt) until August 20, 2021. A simple, automated solution for applying for a deferment of the deadline for submitting tax returns is currently planned.

Entrepreneurs who tax return submitted after the deferred date, will be fined

The Ministry of Finance will also send for consultations a proposal to postpone the dates of establishing the annual financial statements, annual report and auditor's report by two months, as was the case in 2020. Entrepreneurs who have been granted a deferred deadline for submitting a tax return, and who submit after the deferred deadline on August 20, will be fined. The same applies to entrepreneurs who do not apply for a deferred deadline and submit a tax return after the 31 May deadline.

In the event of a delay in paying VAT, late payment interest will be charged.

Deadline for submitting a return tax return and payment of tax VAT for the 10st and 10nd term. It expires on April XNUMX and June XNUMX, respectively. Tax authorities will not impose a mandatory penalty if the notification is delivered after the deadline. But you need to know that in the event of delay in payment, default interest will be charged.

The ability to apply for a deferral is a targeted solution that will provide accountants and auditors with greater flexibility and the ability to handle the increased workload brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
