My dear. The data now shows that infection rates are falling, hospital admissions are falling, and about half of the Norwegian population over the age of 18 have received at least one dose of the vaccine. This is how the Prime Minister began her speech.

In fact, we're opening up a bit more than what was covered in step three.

The changes will be implemented on Sunday, June 20 at 12.00.

  • At private events in public places, such as rented premises, up to 100 people can stay both indoors and outdoors. I think many will be pleased that the guest list for weddings and birthdays may be a little longer.
  • At public events inside, the limit of the number is this.
    • Without fixed, allocated places, up to 2 people can stay in 400 groups.
    • With fixed, assigned places, 1000 people can be divided into 2 groups.
    • If you use the certificate and tests, it can be up to 2500 people.
  • For outdoor public events, there is a limit of 5000 in groups of 500.
  • Serving alcohol after midnight will be abolished, but after midnight it is still not allowed to admit new guests. There are still requirements for registration, serving alcohol at the table, reduced number of guests, seating for all guests and keeping distance.
  • We are now fully open to sport. This means that sporting events that have not yet been launched can now do so, both outside and inside.

Changes that appear in national recommendations. They are valid from today:

  • You can have up to 20 guests visiting your home. Protected persons were not included in this number.
  • In mass sport, we are now also opening up to adults over the age of 20. Currently, it is possible to conduct sports, cultural and recreational activities, thanks to which participants are exempt from the recommendation of a distance of 1 meter. This means that soccer players, handball players, dancers, and more can train as normal.
  • Adults who play sports now also receive an exemption from the 1 meter rule when participating in both outdoor and indoor sports events in their region or county. This means that matches and competitions can now - finally - take place again. This is a bit more than we originally announced in Step Three, but we believe it can be done now.
  • Adult non-professional athletes are also exempt from the 1 meter distance rule at cultural events if they otherwise train or train together.
  • It is now possible to be more physically present in the workplace, but of course everyone should still follow infection control recommendations.
  • When it comes to domestic travel, it's like step two. You can travel around Norway. People who are not protected and traveling to municipalities with less stringent measures should follow the advice in force in the municipality from which they are traveling. It is particularly important to be careful with people who are unprotected and come from municipalities with high infection pressure. They should also not participate in events in other municipalities.

The prime minister announces the changes. At the moment, we vaccinate approximately 1% of the population daily.

As you know, vaccines are our way out of the crisis. Today or in the next few days, we will exceed half of the vaccine population. This is an important milestone and a good reason why we can open up more today.

Although summer will be easier when we move to step three now, there will still be some tips, recommendations and rules that we need to follow.

We have a long way to go before everything is as it used to be, but it's a good day. In the third step, everyday life becomes a bit more like before the coronavirus. But we still have to have some limitations. It is important that we manage these last steps wisely.
