Stanisław Lem was born in Lviv (at that time in the Second Polish Republic), most probably on September 13, 1921 in his family apartment at 4 Brajerowska Street. As the only child of Samuel Lem (another form - Lehm, 1879–1954), a Lviv doctor and Sabina Woller (1892–1979).
