The government will remove entry restrictions from the EU / Schengen, Great Britain and the so-called purple countries from Saturday.

Lists of EU third countries with an infection situation that underpins somewhat lighter entry rules for Norway. You also avoid quarantine hotels when you come to Norway from the purple country.

Norwegian Institute of Public Health and Norwegian Health Directorate recommended for the government to lift entry restrictions from these countries relatively quickly.

Quarantined hotels are removed as a requirement. However, they must be maintained as an offer for those who do not have a suitable quarantine location. Those who are already in quarantine hotels when the new rules are introduced may end the quarantine if necessary.

From Saturday, it is allowed to organize events with full stands and full concert halls after one and a half years with strict restrictions.

Beginning Saturday, September 25, all event and gathering restrictions will be lifted. Full reopening is a hugely important milestone and something we've been waiting for all along. I have great faith that everything will go well and I am optimistic about culture, sport and volunteering. This is Minister of Culture Abid Raja (V) speaking.

As of Saturday, vulnerable travelers from orange areas or children under 18 years of age are no longer subject to entry quarantine after staying abroad.

Children under the age of 18 are not subject to quarantine upon entry. However, they should be encouraged to perform a PCR test or rapid antigen test three days after their arrival. The obligation to test children at the border is maintained.

Norwegian society will reopen on Saturday at 16pm.

Reopening means that the one-meter rule no longer applies, table service and admission are no longer required, and quantitative restrictions for events are lifted.

- Now we can live a normal life, said Prime Minister Solberg, who thanked everyone who lives in Norway for their efforts.

She pointed out that the number of infections is declining, admissions to hospital have stabilized, and the government expects a large proportion of the Norwegian population to be fully vaccinated within a few weeks.

- Coronavirus will also be among us in the coming years, but vaccination has largely affected the strength of the pandemic - said the prime minister.

I hugged Høie. The Prime Minister, when asked by the NTB if it was possible to see a handshake between Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) and the Prime Minister, Høie replied.

- No, not a handshake, but we can hug. He stressed that they had both been able to hug for a long time now as they are both fully vaccinated.

All national restrictions have been removed, except for the requirement to isolate you if you have COVID-19.

It's a day of joy and something that the business community and society as a whole have longed for, says NHO director Ole Erik Almlid of the reopening on Saturday.
