On Wednesday, 12.01 at 12.00, Civil Defense tested typhonene, also known as aviation alarms, in all municipalities where warning systems were installed.

The tested signal was "Important Message - Search Information".

It was broadcast in three series with a one-minute break. The signal means that you should look for information on, for example, radio, television, newspapers, government websites and social media. Regular tests of the warning systems are carried out in January and June of each year.

In Norway, there are about 1250 tyfonene - sirens that alert the population in the event of a serious threat.
