Today, the holiday has been celebrated in Poland since 1964 on the initiative of the "Woman and Life" weekly. its main originator was Kazimierz Flieger (died 1985). In 1966, the "Express Wieczorny" also announced January 21 as "Grandma's Day" and it continues to this day.

It is a celebration of women who pamper their grandchildren, are affectionate, caring and, of course, cook the best in the world. Family support in difficult times, because they are an invaluable help in raising grandchildren, enabling parents to reconcile work and duties. We have our mothers, the so-called emergency care, and whoever has one can be envied.

On such a day, all grandchildren wish their grandmothers. And maybe the grandmothers will get a sweet gift made by their own hands by the grandson, or, for example, a card?
