The basic amount in the social insurance system is increasing. This is an increase from NOK 106 399 to NOK 111 477 as of May 1, 2022, corresponding to 4,77%. At the same time, the pension during the payment period receives an annual increase of 4,12%.
The government will regulate the basic amount, disability benefits and pension as they accrue in line with the increase in total wages. Pension in progress, as well as rates minimum pension and guaranteed pensions are regulated by the average increase in wages and prices.
The Storting adopted new rules for regulating pensions during the payday
- A sustainable pension system is important. It is also important that contributions must be made by both retired people and today's young people. I am glad that this year we will see an increase in the basic amount and pensions - says Minister of Labor and Social Integration Marte Mjøs Persen.
The new rules provide greater predictability
- The law and regulations define how the basic amount and pensions are to be regulated. The Storting adopted new rules for regulating pensions during the payday. The new regulations ensure greater predictability of the remuneration of pensioners. Retirees will not lose if workers are in the upside, Persen says.
The numbers were discussed with the Pensioners' Association, Senior Norway, the Association of Seniors of the Norwegian Armed Forces, the National Association of Public Pensioners, the Joint Organization of Disabled Persons, the Disabled People's Organization Cooperation Forum, LO, YS, Unio and Akademikerne.
The new base amount and correction rates will be formally established by a royal decree on May 20, 2022.
Who gets what?
Retirement pension in the accrual period, disability pension and other benefits regulated by the basic amount from May 1 will increase in income by 4,77%. The annual increase in these benefits will amount to 4,84%.
New G from May 1, 2022 will amount to NOK 111. The new G average for 477 is NOK 2022
From May 1, the pensions paid will increase by 3,53%, and the annual increase will amount to 4,12%.
