The day before the deadline, the updated data shows that every third person has not yet submitted a tax return. People who fail to deliver or request a postponement risk a fine.

Anyone who has received a corporate tax return must submit an electronic form on time. This applies even if you have had no changes, have not operated in the last year or if you have closed your business.

To avoid fines, 112 sole proprietorships and 000 companies must submit a tax return for the income year 2021 or submit a deferment request before the midnight deadline.

In total, the tax return has already been submitted by less than 400 thousand.

̶ The positive is that so many have already provided. It is important that the tax administration receives appropriate information from companies so that we can determine the correct tax, says Marta Johanne Gjengedal, head of the tax administration department.

You can submit a request for a postponement

Entrepreneurs may apply to extend the deadline for submitting their tax return tax in the field of tax property and income. If a deferment request is submitted, the deadline is automatically extended to June 30, 2022.

The deadline for filing a tax return or requesting a deferment is Tuesday 31 May.

In addition, accountants and auditors can apply for a 30-day deferral for the submission of tax returns this year on behalf of all of their clients. This option only applies to your tax return for the income year 2021.

In 2021, 28 sole proprietorships and companies had to pay fines due to non-delivery or delay in submitting a tax return.

Tax authorities exercise their discretion in determining income when companies or natural persons running a sole proprietorship do not submit a tax return on time.
