- The consequences of war affect different industries, regions and sectors in different ways. We must work together to face the challenges. It is important for the government to listen to the parties and get general feedback on the situation in different sectors, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The war has created logistical challenges, and several industries are struggling to source raw materials, spare parts, and the inputs they depend on. There are municipalities that struggle to find staff to help provide the services they need to refugees and other residents. Both public and private actors are experiencing an increased risk of cyber attacks as a result of war.

Several of them stressed that refugees have the skills Norway needs. The participants of the meeting also looked for tips on how to quickly get Ukrainians to work. There is also a danger that the war may prevent grain from Ukraine from reaching those in need. Some have expressed concerns that this could lead to hunger and food shortages in the world. The primary industries stressed the importance of increasing Norway's degree of self-sufficiency.

We will cope with the challenges

– I thank the parties for their good and important contribution. The war in Ukraine may last a long time and it is difficult to predict all its consequences. But we will accept it well refugees from Ukraine and we will cope with the challenges we face, says Prime Minister Støre.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Labor and Social Inclusion, the Minister of Local Government and Poviats, the Minister of National Defense, the Minister of Agriculture and Food, the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy and representatives of other ministries.
