The three wounded soldiers landed in Norway on Sunday afternoon. They are accepted as part of Norway's contribution under the EU Civil Emergency Plan (UCPM). All this within the pre-established framework for 550 patients in the Medevac program.

Norway is currently one of eight countries that are evacuating wounded Ukrainian soldiers as part of the cooperation. The Norwegian authorities consider that contributions to this scheme are an important way to remedy the situation in Ukraine. It is also a clear signal that Norway continues to assume responsibility for burden-sharing at international level, says Justice and Crisis Management Minister Emilie Enger Mehl.

– Norwegian contribution to medical evacuation and treatment wounded soldiers will help relieve the burden on the Ukrainian health service. It is under great pressure because of the war. This will also be in line with Norwegian support to date. I would like to thank Norwegian healthcare service, who once again said that she is ready to help in a difficult situation, says Minister of Health and Care Ingvild Kjerkol.

Like other Ukrainians, wounded Ukrainian soldiers will also receive help in accommodation in Norway.
