- This year's ownership report shows a relatively significant increase in the value of state-owned shares and a record dividend for the state from companies. This is for the benefit of society as a whole, says Trade and Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre.

At a press conference in the Old Library in Oslo, the Minister of Trade and Industry presented the state's annual ownership report.

The ownership report is an annual report on the state's direct shareholding in 71 companies, employing a total of 332 employees. The report provides an overall overview of key figures from the past year.

It will develop and strengthen property

A novelty this year is also the discussion of selected green restructuring projects, which show the diversity of ongoing restructuring works in companies in which the state has ownership interests. The report also includes reporting on greenhouse gas emissions by companies.

- It's good that all companies in the category report their greenhouse gas emissions, but overall there are still too few of them. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is absolutely crucial for companies to be competitive in the future, says Trade and Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre.

The ability to adapt quickly enough is crucial for long-term value creation in companies and in the Norwegian business community in general.

- To meet the challenges ahead, we need to think anew and wisely, also within the framework of state ownership. Therefore, we are now working on a new ownership report. State ownership will be developed and strengthened as part of the restructuring of the Norwegian economy. In the new ownership report, we will strengthen, inter alia, climatic and natural expectations. We will strengthen workers' rights and moderation in the salaries of the managerial staff - says Jan Christian Vestre, Minister of Trade and Industry.

Moderate remuneration of management staff

The report provides an overview of the remuneration of senior management in state-owned companies.

- This government deals with moderating the wages of executives. Moderation is something that I am following in connection with this year's general meeting and that I would also like to highlight in the future, says Trade and Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre.
