The AAP is currently changing.

There was a lot of talk last year about the changes to the AAP - and now the changes are coming:

Nav announces that from July 1, 2022, new rules for (AAP) apply.

There will be three important changes to the regulations:

  • People who have their last day at the AAP between June 30 and October 30 will automatically receive an extension until October 31.
  • The waiting period between periods from the AAP is removed.
  • There are new rules on who can get an exception period.

136 people received AAP from Nav in the first quarter of 600.

Nav: this is the goal

- The aim of the changes to the AAP regulations is to provide recipients with the best possible conditions to return to work, by clarifying their ability to work and follow-up.

Six months have passed since the then minister of labor and social integration, Hadia Tajik, presented the government's plans to amend the AAP regulations, including the removal of the qualifying year.

Following this, the government entered the revised state budget, which was presented in May:

– The government proposes to abolish the waiting period. So that people who are going through the maximum benefit period can apply for a new period of work money without waiting time. The government is also proposing a new exemption provision. It will give you the right to an extended period dismissal for recipients who still have unresolved work capacity but who are considered fit to apply for work.

How does it work in practice today?

– People who currently receive AAP do not need to contact Nav when the new regulations come into force. Nav automatically extends the AAP period for people, which are on the last day of AAP. This applies to the period between June 30 and October 30, writes Nav, but highlights an exception:

- The exceptions are recipients who have explained their working capacity before 30 June.

Nav indicates that you still need to follow the steps agreed with your supervisor. AAP recipients must still agree on a plan if they have questions about what to do next.

The qualifying rule was that you can receive AAP for a maximum of three years. This period is followed by a qualifying year in which you are not eligible for AAP benefits.

. The qualifying year is removed from July 1.

This means that recipients who have exhausted their AAP period, both regular and exceptional, do not have to wait for a year before being able to apply for a new AAP, according to Nav.

However, the maximum period remains. The maximum normal period of AAP benefit is still three years, and the exemption period is limited to two years.

The AAP campaign is one of the parties that was critical of the three-year maximum deadline.

New rules for the exception period

Nav tells about the new rules for granting a release period:

The new rules will emphasize the recipient's chances to increase his working capacity in the future. The exception period means that some recipients may extend the AAP period for up to two years beyond the usual three-year period.
