Based on information from Sørlandet's hospital about suspected methanol poisoning in Agder, police launched an investigation yesterday on Monday 25 July.
Violation of the Alcohol Act
- Investigation found that drinking alcohol may be related to a small private meeting. This meeting was held in Mandal on Saturday evening, says Bernt Mushom, acting head of the operating unit at the Vestre Agder operating unit.
Sale of alcohol
During the hearing, the person admitted selling alcohol to those present at the meeting. The person was charged with violating the Alcohol Act. The alcohol has been confiscated and will be investigated.
"The people who were present at the party, as well as the accused, are adults," says Mushom.
In this case, it turned out not to be methanol poisoning. However, the police will continue to warn against drinking alcohol of unknown origin.
