Women's European Football Championship 2025

Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden jointly applied for the tournament to be awarded to the Nordic countries. The Norwegian delegation in Portugal is naturally disappointed with the result, including football president Lise Klaveness.

We have put in a lot of effort, both in Norway and in Denmark, Sweden and Finland, to be allocated the European Women's Football Championship in 2025. We believe we have submitted a good application with a clear plan on how to create the best European Championship ever. However, we knew the competition would be fierce. We can only congratulate Switzerland on its victory now. Naturally, we are all disappointed by this. A home tournament would be a huge boost to the work to create a level playing field for football dreams regardless of gender. However, this work continues uninterruptedly, says Football President Lise Klaveness.
