Easter is one of the most important Christian holidays. It is celebrated around the world by millions of people. It is a time of joyful celebration associated with faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is celebrated with different traditions and customs depending on the country and region, but they all have a common goal - to commemorate events that took place over 2000 years ago.

The history of Easter dates back to biblical times when Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross and resurrected on the third day. The resurrection of Jesus was a key event in Christianity because it marked the victory of life over death and the opening of the way to salvation.

The first Easter took place during the Jewish holiday of Pesach, which is celebrated in spring, usually in March or April. Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon of spring.

Easter is a time when people celebrate and share different traditions with family and friends. One of the most important elements of Easter is the egg, symbolizing life and the world reborn in spring. In different countries and regions, eggs are decorated in different ways, for example in Poland, eggs are painted and dyed with natural dyes.

Another popular symbol of Easter is the Easter bunny, which in some countries replaces the traditional Santa Claus as the gift-distributing figure. In Poland, the bunny brings eggs and sweets for children.

The tradition of a shared meal

Easter is a celebration full of joy and the end of Lent, and the tradition of eating together is also celebrated. On our tables there will be splendor in the form of all kinds of meats, sausages and cakes, such as cakes, cakes, mazurkas, poppy seed cakes and stuffed and baked eggs. Old Polish cuisine is famous for its exquisite dishes, such as Easter soup, borscht, horseradish soup, stuffed duck, pâtés, white sausage and salads. The festival is also a great opportunity to try venison, such as hare, wild boar, black grouse, pheasant or venison.

Easter is a time of joyful celebration, a time dedicated to family, friends and faith. Regardless of what the traditions and customs are in different countries, it is important to remember the true meaning of Easter - the victory of life over death and the hope of salvation.
