We wrote some time that when looking for a job in Norway, it is worth knowing the Norwegian language - at least its basics. It turns out that refugees will have to know Norwegian "top-down". Otherwise, they may lose their jobs. Tightening requirements for refugees will be considered by politicians in the Storting in the fall. The originators clearly emphasize that this is a necessity. It is about changing the law enabling unemployed immigrants who have not learned Norwegian to receive social benefits.

New tightening - motivation to work!

There are still a very large number of immigrants who benefit from social welfare benefits and their job-seeking abilities are negligible. They prefer to use state benefits than learn Norwegian and, consequently, find a better job. The compulsory education would primarily apply to specific groups - asylum seekers and refugees who were granted the right to stay in Norway. It is worth noting that the changes will initially apply only to immigrants under 30 years of age, and only over time would the law be extended to other age groups.

"Tongue Norwegian is the key to the labor market and Norwegian society; you need to learn the language to get a job, friends and acquaintances" Explains Prime Minister Solberg.

Norwegian on the job market.

Norwegian language - why is it worth learning?

It is worth thinking about learning Norwegian - even if we have a job that we are satisfied with. Knowledge of the language is a number of possibilities:

  • a chance to find a better job - with higher earnings,
  • free communication in everyday life,
  • strengthening self-confidence.

Contrary to appearances, if you want to start your adventure with Norwegian, you do not have to invest in very expensive and expensive language courses. You can start learning Norwegian in small steps, as best you can. Among other things, online online courses are very popular. Without leaving home, we can acquire the vocabulary and grammar of the Norwegian language at the appropriate pace and scope. Watch Norwegian TV, listen to the radio - this way we will not only learn specific words, but also hear the accent. Knowing a bit of the basics, you should talk, talk, talk ... Only in this way the use of the Norwegian language will become something natural for us.
