- Investing in the culture of children and youth is an investment in good educational environment for children and adolescents. Culture contributes to the curiosity and imagination of the individual, while at the same time creating lively and inclusive communities, says Culture and Gender Equality Minister Anette Trettebergstuen.

As it turned out, municipalities showed great interest in participating in these works. A total of 37 applications were received from municipalities from all over the country. At the same time, many municipalities provided their own funds for participation. When selecting 15 projects, emphasis was placed on, among others, to facilitate active participation children and adolescents in municipal planning.

- The efforts of municipalities are very important that children and young people have access to art and culture, no matter who they are and where they live. At the same time, it is imperative that children and young people themselves be involved in the decision-making process. It is important that they receive a cultural offer that is open, inclusive and diverse - sums up the Minister of Culture and Equality.

During the project lifetime, Kulturtanken will work closely with KS, the Norwegian Cultural Forum and the Norwegian Council for Cultural Schools. It will also facilitate meetings between various municipalities to exchange experiences. The stocktaking conference will be held in 2023.
