. This initiative took place on Friday between 15 p.m. and 18 p.m. and was organized by a Norwegian group, “Vi som ønsker Rygge Flyplass gjenåpnet ”, many Poles also support this action. The group can be supported, inter alia, by buying mugs or T-shirts dedicated to this matter.

The re-opening of Rygge Airport

As mentioned above, behind this initiative is a Norwegian group that already has 52 members. This means that the group has a lot of support and credibility to comment on it and make a difference.

The airports are close to many cities whose residents now have to use either Torp or Gardermoen. The road to these airports is quite long, and public transport connections are not fast either. The whole initiative is not to build a new runway at Gardermoen Airport, but to reopen Rygge Airport.

After the airport was closed, about 1000 people lost their jobs. At the same time, this means that if it reopened, as many as 1000 new jobs would be created.

Michał Kuczkowski, when asked how many times he used the airport, replies that many times. He goes on to say that it was a revelation because the road took him 30 minutes, it was a quick access via the motorway, and there was a large parking lot at the airport.

Yes to the initiative - Rygge Airport reopening

Flights were to various places in the world, for example to Spain, England, Lithuania or Poland. In other words, it was close and comfortable, and there were more opportunities to travel to Poland. At various times, the airport was so crowded that it was difficult to find a parking space.

The people on the spot organized the whole initiative very nicely. For example, they came with suitcases as if they were about to go somewhere. The number of people wanting to reopen the airport is really big, but is there any chance it will be reopened? Hopefully, with so many people supporting this initiative, it will influence the government's decisions regarding Rygge airport.
