Oslo City Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor) has received confirmation that he is infected with omicron, a variant of the coronavirus.
About it reports NTB secretary of the city council Kaia Storvik (Labor Party).
- All close contacts are informed and encouraged to adhere to omicron's current infection control rules, which are different and stricter than those for previous coronavirus variants. This is Storvik.
He claims Raymond's condition is fine.
- The city council president has been in isolation since he tested positive on Wednesday night. He still works in his position, but in accordance with the applicable rules of restrictions.
Anyone infected with the coronavirus must be in isolation for at least seven days.
Storvik says he doesn't have a complete picture of how many people have been quarantined because of the chairman, but says he hasn't had too many close contacts..

Raymond Johansen had symptoms Wednesday. The day before, he had organized a press conference on the crown, journalists present had been notified of the case of infection. One of the city council employees also received confirmation of the infection.
It is currently unknown how the leader of the city council got infected.
- In the St. Hanshaugen, where he lives, has been diagnosed with the omicron variant, but it is not known exactly who he contracted from. This is Storvik.
