Police confirm on their website people who were found dead in the Gjerdrum landslide. The information came after confirming the identity and after informing the families of this sad fact.

The search for the last three missing persons will continue.

Emergency services hope to continue finding survivors, although there must be several factors for that to happen.

The clock is ticking

Fridtjof Heyerdahl, who is the task manager for the medical staff on site, said earlier on Sunday that the rescue operation was still underway for as long as possible.

“Time passes and there must be very special conditions that must be met for someone to survive after that time. We will look for survivors as long as possible, ”Heyerdahl said.

Five teams in total, it is about 30 people who are simultaneously looking for missing persons in an avalanche.

Searching with dogs

Rescue teams use dogs in a landslide.

When the dogs end up in the area they are withdrawn, then rescue personnel proceed to search the places where the dogs reacted.

On Saturday, police said the dogs had made many markings that are being checked.

A tragedy for families, a tragedy for us.

Entering the new year, many of us hope that it will be better, more normal. For many families it was a time of hope, a time of waiting. They were just waiting for a message whether their closest and friends would find each other. Sorry when anyone dies. Let's hurry to love because people leave so quickly. We join in pain and mourning.
