From 1 January, nurses and midwives were also entitled to use contraception for children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
Previously, only doctors could do this.
The new regulations were prepared by the then Minister of Health and Welfare, Bent Høie (H) this fall, the magazine writes Sykepleien .
– It's important that we have it health service, which responds to the needs of young people. That's why we will make sure contraception is more accessible to young people. It will also be able to prevent unwanted pregnancies, Høie said in a press release on September 2, 2021.
The change is a measure in the action plan for further reduction number of abortions.
On 1 January, adjustments to rates for patient travel and dental treatment also entered into force.
