The adopted sanctions include a ban on the carriage of goods by road for transport companies based in Belarus. The exception is road transport companies that transport mail as a service to be delivered. The ban will only apply from May 13, 2022. However, the ban does not apply to freight transport on a route that commenced before May 5, 2022. The condition is, however, that on that date the vehicle was already in the territory of Norway.

Euro banknotes and Norwegian kroner are not allowed to be exported

Other sanctions that have been introduced are the extension of the ban on the export of euro banknotes to banknotes in the official currency of the EU member states and the Norwegian krone, and the extension of the ban on the sale of transferable securities in euro to securities denominated in the official currency of the EU member states and the Norwegian krone.

The regulatory changes introduced by the government today are essential for Norway to endorse EU sanctions.
