– Businesses that relied on visitors continue to find themselves in a difficult position as a result of long-term infection control measures. The government allocates another 750 to municipalities million NOK, which will compensate losses for local companies that need help, says District and Digital Minister Linda Hofstad Helleland.

The government has transferred NOK 1,75 billion to municipalities in winter and spring

Funds are distributed to municipalities depending on the number of employees in the summer period in gastronomy, accommodation, trade and tourism. In addition, 546 million can be distributed later if there is a need to compensate for new infection control measures. In this round, funds go to several smaller municipalities for the purpose of the program. The government gave the municipalities 1,75 billion SAIs in winter and spring to compensate local businesses that have been affected by national or local infection control measures. The total government contribution to help local businesses during the pandemic is NOK 3,9 billion.
