Is return possible?

Russia became involved in the conflict on September 30, 2015, supporting the dictatorship of Bashar al-Assad in the fight against the opposition led by Riyadh al-Assad. The effect of these military actions is the strengthening of al-Assad's power during the civil war that started on March 15, 2011. Consequently, the Russian authorities are anxious to convey positive news about the possible mass return of refugees to Syria. It is still unknown to what extent it is realistic to bring over 1.7 million Syrians into their homes in the near future.
