Purpose of the broadcast

The purpose of the program is to provide comprehensive support to all those who need it. Loneliness is a huge problem faced by people living in exile. In many cases, professional help is necessary to deal with this issue.

How to deal with loneliness?

“Whiskey, my wife, but you are the best lady. You won't leave me anymore, no, I won't be alone ”sang the famous and well-liked Ryszard Riedel from the Dżem band. However, is alcohol a solution that will help us deal with the loneliness in emigration? It is definitely not a panacea for all problems.

Common problems of an immigrant

According to Anna Frączkowska, one of the biggest problems of living in exile is the language barrier. Lack of knowledge of the language hinders contacts with other people, and also makes it difficult to establish lasting relationships in a new environment. This affects the perception of the surrounding reality as completely alien, and sometimes even hostile. This is why we begin to feel lonely and abandoned. This is the first step to depression, which can be dire in its consequences.

Depression in exile

Depression in emigration is a common affliction of people who leave alone and stay outside Poland without their closest family and friends. This problem particularly affects those people who have difficulty learning a foreign language. Then they lack support and closeness to another human being. How to deal with loneliness in emigration?

We need company

The best solution is the company of another human being. It is easier to find yourself in a new place with the support and feeling of being close to another person. Poles get to know and establish contacts with their compatriots quite quickly. You can find them without any problems, and a helpful tool is the Internet. Organizations associating national minorities and foreign Polish diaspora radios are also useful. Such institutions often organize meetings, they also inform about Polish food restaurants and Polish stores. Information on events organized by Poles for Poles is not without significance. Thanks to such entities, you can feel like in Poland even abroad.

Loneliness has many faces. How to deal with it? >>>

New technologies and loneliness

The development of new technologies now makes it possible to maintain contacts with relatives who have stayed in Poland. Mobile phones allow you to conduct video conversations, which is a substitute for a real face-to-face conversation. Instant messaging and social media make it possible to maintain relationships, thanks to the possibility of e.g. sending photos, sending messages and sharing all important moments. In the past, this was the role of mail - thanks to the development of the Internet, all this is now much faster.

Retirement to work - the solution?

Being in exile, it is worth considering your goals all the time and answering the question "Why am I here?". Balance is the most important thing in life. You should monitor yourself, the name of your behavior and social trends. This will make it easier for us to cope with crisis situations, because self-awareness allows us to assess our own abilities as well as strengths and weaknesses. Thanks to this, when an obstacle appears on our way, we will find the strength to deal with it. Therefore, according to Anna Frączkowska - a runaway to work or a runaway to whatever is never the best solution. Many more benefits will come from establishing relationships with people who will give us back in difficult moments. However, it does not always have to be a Pole!
