On Wednesday, October 31, a tragedy occurred in the small town of Vinstra (Oppland district). A 16-year-old girl was murdered. Police received notice of the case at 15:54 on Wednesday. The suspect, who turned out to be a 16-year-old boy, was successfully arrested. His hearing is scheduled for today.

“Hard times for everyone”

Vinstra is a small town with only 2 inhabitants. As the mayor of the Nord-Fron commune, Rune Støstad, says, everyone knows everyone here. In his opinion, the intimate nature of the town intensifies the scale of the tragedy that occurred there on October 500. “It will be a difficult time for us and I encourage everyone to stick together,” the mayor told Nettavisen.

Fatal stabbed knife

On Wednesday, October 31, at 15:54 pm local police received a report of a knife attack. The victim turned out to be a 16-year-old student at a local school. The inflicted wounds turned out to be so serious that the teenager died at 17 p.m. The attack took place on a private property in Vinstra. The victim's neighbor tried to catch the perpetrator, but was stabbed in the leg with a knife. He was taken to the hospital in Lillehammer and his condition was not life threatening.

The perpetrator is a 16-year-old boy

It was the injured neighbor who informed the police about the incident. He acts as a witness in the pending proceedings. Thanks to his testimony, it was possible to establish that the murder may have been perpetrated by a 16-year-old boy from the same town. The teenager was supposed to be interrogated a moment after his arrest, but it turned out that the perpetrator himself was injured and had to be hospitalized.

“I don't know what type of injuries they were. However, I know that my client has already left the hospital in Lillehammer, was transported to a juvenile detention center and will be questioned on Friday," said the boy's defender, lawyer Lorentz Stavrum.
