– It is exciting and absolutely necessary that we work smarter in the public sector as resources become scarcer, tasks become larger and quality requirements increase, says Minister of Digital Affairs and Administration Karianne Tung.

Increasing use of artificial intelligence

About 26 percent of companies in the state's tariff area say they have actively or to some extent implemented AI in their human resources work. This is data from the state employer barometer for autumn 2023 . Means an increase from about 10 percent spring 2023. Almost half of the companies considering testing in the future AI tools in HR work, and about one third of companies claim to have applied artificial intelligence in other business activities.

– New technology and digitalization give us enormous opportunities. They are the tools we need to create new work places, find solutions to major challenges and make our lives easier and better. We are entering a decade in which... The lack of resources seriously affects us in Norway: being well supplied with both people, money and nature, we will now face a shortage of all these resources. This puts us under pressure and forces us to rethink and adopt new technologies, says Minister Karianne Tung.

– I am glad that many companies are actively working on trust reform and I expect that more will follow following them. The aim of trust reform is to provide citizens with greater prosperity and better services. To achieve this, we need to work more to increase trust in and in the public sector, says Tung.

In this study, entrepreneurs were also asked, among others: on topics such as employee recruitment and retention. The questions in the survey also included: cooperation with trade union representatives on related issues with the climate and environment.
