More than 2,6 million filed a tax return and 1,6 million received a tax return.
The tax filing deadline is Tuesday, April 30
– I encourage everyone who has not opened and checked their tax return to do so before the deadline, says director Nina Schanke Funnemark.

There are many recurring topics in sp. people call the tax administration asking for help.
– We receive a lot of inquiries. But to sum up, we can say that there have been many questions about the division of loans and interest, how to change the value of the house on the tax return, practical questions about paying the residual tax and questions about when the tax money will arrive, says director Nina Schanke Funnemark .
Additionally, the tax director highlights another recurring topic: Changing tax cards.
– Both last year and this year, I noticed that many people were asking us for help in changing their tax card. The positive thing is that many people are active about the taxes they have to pay, Schanke tells Funnemark.
20 billion in tax returns
After you submit your tax return, the Internal Revenue Service must review it and prepare your tax return. Your tax return shows how much you will get back or how much you will have to pay (residual tax).
Most people receive their tax return between April and June, but some may have to wait until the fall.
The data shows that tax settlements have so far been received by over 1,6 million people, i.e. 160 more than more than in the same period last year. In total, over NOK 20 billion in tax was paid, which is NOK 5 billion more than in the same period last year
Random audit of tax returns
If you filed your tax return but still haven't received a notification, it may be because you've made multiple changes or added attachments that the IRS needs to check. It may also be due to failure to provide all necessary information or a random check. You will receive a notification when your tax return is ready.
Your tax money is paid soon after you prepare your tax return, but it may be possible that you haven't received your tax money. This especially applies if you owe money to the state and/or municipality. The tax money you have in your account can then be used to pay off your debt.
