The flash point that motivated Norway to withdraw from subsidies to the Amazon was the decree of President Jair Bolsonaro, important and significant for this topic. It relates directly to changes in the Fund's supervisory committee. The said committee takes all decisions related to the allocation of the amount raised from the donation. Neither Norway nor Germany was informed about the changes. This fact sparked opposition. Both of these countries have been financing the Fund for 11 years. They should be informed about any changes, financial staff or planned modernizations.
