Polish Nobel laureate, Olga Tokarczuk, met with the King of Sweden. The meeting took place due to the ceremony related to the presentation of the award to the Polish woman at the gala ceremony. During the ceremonial reception, Olga Tokarczuk had the opportunity to talk with the king of Sweden. During the conversation, she raised, among other things, the problem of hunting animals. She tried to persuade the monarch of Sweden to ban this practice. Olga Tokarczuk says very warmly about the conversation with the king: “He is a very nice and intelligent man. Our conversation was conducted in a very nice atmosphere."

Olga Tokarczuk is not sure whether she finally managed to convince the King of Sweden to give up hunting. She explained this by the fact that Swedes have a great love for hunting, which is related to their national tradition. Therefore, she is not sure whether her arguments will ultimately convince the ruler of Sweden to ban hunting. However, he admits that in many respects the king admitted her right. She also noted that he used claims about controlling nature as counter-arguments.
