We came to Bergen in 2012 straight from England, where we spent five years. Gastronomy in our professional life appeared at the very beginning, when we were still living in Poland. We gained experience in Tri-City clubs and restaurants. Then we decided to go to England, where (how else) we started working in the gastro again. After 5 years, it was decided that it was time for changes. And so, with four suitcases and a 5-month-old child, we got off the plane in Bergen.
How long does it take to find a job in Bergen?
After two days of distributing his CV, Zbyszek found a job in a restaurant. Magdalena spent two years caring for a recently born child, and then working in the gastronomy.
The idea for our own Food-truck has been sitting in our heads for many years.
Almost For 20 years of work in the industry, we have found that we have enough experience and competences to start our own business. At the beginning it was supposed to be a partnership with our Italian company a buddy, but life thwarted his plans and he had to give up the project. And so we were left alone with everything on our heads. Credits red hot. Telephones to banks who will give more, loans from friends…. and so we have been flying on fumes for over half a year.

So far, all revenues are absorbed by costs. But we have our own dream super Food-Truck, our own business that gives happiness and fulfillment! Each day brings us something different, we acquire new skills, meet wonderful people, and experience more. We offer people a high-quality product, we make the pasta ourselves, the Italian Salsiccie sausage as well, we choose the products carefully, we make our sauces ourselves. We already have quite a large crowd addicted to our pastes 😉
Sometimes, when the hands drop by themselves, we wonder if all the effort and input is worth it ?! But when there is a line in front of the window, four burners heat the pans, then we draw the wind into the sails again, and all dilemmas disappear. If someone asked us if we regret the decisions we made, we unanimously say that no, because all of them, even those not fully thought out and taken lightly, have taught us something and made us who we are now!
Do not be afraid of changes, boldly make decisions, believe in yourself, and everything will turn out by itself 😉
