Lessons of love (English title Lessons of love) is a full-length documentary, directed by Kasia Mateja and Małgorzata Goliszewska, producer Anna Stylińska and HBO Europe
The film tells the story of Jola, a 68-year-old woman who, after 50 years of being in a violent relationship, decides to leave her husband and change her life.

The film had its world premiere at the prestigious IDFA Festival in Amsterdam in November 2019 (the largest Documentary Film Festival in the world)
The Polish premiere of Lesson of Love took place in September 2019 at the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Festival, where Lesson of Love won two awards:
-Grand Prix of Lower Silesia
-Zwierciadło Magazine Award
The film also won the Best Director Award at the DOKER Festival in Moscow

Kasia Mateja

Director and photographer from Szczecin. He currently lives in Oslo, Norway. Graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland in Film and Television. He holds a master's degree in law and administration from the University of Szczecin. For many years she has been participating in film projects, where she is a director, cinematographer, editor and producer. She made documentary and experimental films, including in Scotland, Ireland, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Mongolia. Her works have been awarded at international film festivals. The documentary "Quiet on the way to the reindeer people", her directorial debut, won awards at festivals in Brazil, Romania, Portugal and Poland.

Director (together with Małgorzata Goliszewska) and cinematographer of the film "Lesson of Love" of a full-length documentary, the premiere of which took place in 2019 at the IDFA Festival in Amsterdam, awarded at the DOKER Festival in Moscow 2020 for the best director and the Zwierciadło Award and Grand Prix of Lower Silesia at Festival of Millennium Docs Against Gravity 2020. Kasia also works as a photographer, mainly oriented towards travel reportage. Since 2008, he has been an active member of the Kod_Krowa Creative Initiatives Association. He conducts film workshops for disadvantaged youth.
