In Norway
On June 22, the first version of the certificate will comply with all EU requirements. The government will consider allowing the certificate to be used when traveling to and from the EU.
"When we reopen the borders, we need a system we can trust - where people can't cheat and present false papers that they've been vaccinated," emphasizes Høie.
Therefore, the government wants to use the certificate to open the country. However, wider application is likely to require a better legal basis.
Prime Minister Erna Solberg believes, among other things, that the certificate and tests can also be used during larger outdoor events this summer.
- It should be emphasized that this is a preliminary plan. First, problems can arise while creating the certificate. Second thing, there are many questions that need to be answered before we start using this document. Third, we must use the experience of the first steps before moving on to the next. So many are uncertain, says Prime Minister Erna Solberg.
