Hopes were great. The fans of the Polish national team believed until the very end that the match against Slovakia would be a success. Unfortunately, there were no such chances because our game was simply poor. Our team is managed by a new coach - Paulo Sousa. Before the start of the Euro, he assured that intensive training was ongoing. He said he had a lot of new ideas and focused on "ours'" good technique. However, the effect this evening was not satisfactory. It was the most important match in three years and a wasted opportunity. Wojciech Szczęsny made many mistakes from the beginning of the match. The coach tried to "invest" in defense, but to no avail. After Slovakia's first goal, our rivals gained momentum. They finished their work in a relaxed manner, but with passion and commitment. There was practically no chance to reverse the course of events and even draw. Switzerland was technically very strong and extremely determined. This was visible in almost every minute of this match.
