A man in his forties was arrested after a woman was found dead at a private address in Lier. The police are investigating the murder.
The woman was found dead Saturday morning. A man in his forties is charged with murder and gave preliminary explanations. He appointed Andrea Wisløff as defender.
- He was initially questioned by the police, but the state of the interrogated person did not allow them to be continued. It was decided to postpone further actions related to the suspect, says Wisløff to the NTB.
The plan is to continue questioning the man tonight. The explanations provided so far correspond to what the police have learned.
Police inspector Odd Skei Kostveit from the Southeast Police District said the man was linked to the incident and that his initial explanations were consistent with what police found on the scene.
Wisløff adds that the man has not taken a stance on the criminal guilt issue.
According to police information, the perpetrator of the murder contacted them.
- We did not explain the cause of death, but the defendant provided preliminary explanations that the case should be treated as murder - Kostveit tells the NTB.
No background drugs for the incident
None of the people involved are known to the police. They cannot say anything about the possible connection between them. The deceased woman was 60 years old.
Police inform NRK that there is no indication that drugs were the background of the events or that other people were involved.
Police were notified of the incident at 3.01:XNUMX AM on Saturday morning.
