– Chancellor Scholz and I took an informal initiative today to strengthen the protection of underwater infrastructure. We propose the establishment of a NATO center to continue this work, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Støre and Scholz agree that such a center should be organized in partnership with the private sector so that plans and safeguards can be coordinated to prevent future sabotage.

Later that evening, Støre and Scholz will meet NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The proposal for a new NATO center will be discussed at a meeting with Stoltenberg.
