According to all news services, the number of victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria is almost 41.

Turkey turned to allies for help after an earthquake struck Turkey and Syria on the night of February 6. Together with several other countries, Norway is sending cargo planes to support Turkey in this disaster
“The damage in Turkey is huge and the situation is critical. Turkey has asked for international help and support. It is important that we contribute where we can in this very difficult situation, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The crew on board consists of operating personnel as well as workers and medical personnel

The crewed cargo plane left Norway on Saturday February 11 and can be deployed quickly to Turkey. The crew on board consists of both flight operations personnel with experience in similar operations as well as staff and medical personnel on standby.

“Norway is providing a transport plane at short notice that will be able to evacuate the injured from the affected areas to the hospital. The aircraft can also be used to transport emergency aid, says Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.

The Norwegian Armed Forces has also previously deployed aircraft and personnel in several emergencies and situations both here in Norway and abroad.
