These are voluntary organizations that are critical to national preparedness. Every day they participated in rescue operations, searches and other missions throughout the country. These organizations often support people in crisis, the elderly and children. They know the local environment well and can help quickly in an emergency.
Redningsselskapet, the Norwegian Red Cross and Norsk Folkehjelp will receive a total of 518,3 million NOK for voluntary cash from the Norsk Tipping surplus from 2022. This is an increase of NOK 22,8 million compared to last year.
From Bonus Year 2018 onwards, the distribution of Norsk Tipping Gambling Surplus to Socially Beneficial and Humanitarian Organizations has been changed. The program will help in the implementation of important social tasks that are carried out by large nationwide organizations in the field of health, social assistance, crisis assistance and social work as well as protection of nature, the environment and animals.

The program must also ensure the continuation of central rescue and emergency response tasks. Therefore, the Storting decided that Redningsselskapet, the Norwegian Red Cross and Norsk Folkehjelp must be guaranteed a fixed annual share of the funds. Other organizations must apply. The application deadline is September 1.
