Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace has been awarded a contract for the supply of a newly developed anti-drone system to Ukraine for NOK 740 million. Russian drone attacks are a big challenge in Ukraine, which makes this delivery in high demand.
– Here we see the effect of good cooperation between the Armed Forces and industry, which demonstrates the ability to think in new, innovative ways. This will help save the lives of Ukrainians and is important for the resistance Ukraine in the face of the brutal Russian war offensive, says Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.
The delivery of the anti-drone system is funded by the British-led International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), with Norway as the main contributor.

“This will greatly enhance Ukraine's anti-drone capabilities and help protect the Ukrainian population and infrastructure,” says managing director Erik Lie of Kongsberg DA.
Western support is absolutely crucial
The Cortex Typhon C-UAS is a newly developed anti-drone system composed of Teledyne Flir, Kongsberg and armored vehicle components. The Norwegian Armed Forces donated Dingo vehicles, machine guns and ammunition to the system.
“Western support is absolutely crucial for Ukraine to be able to repel Russia's brutal invasion. Norway gave Ukraine a lot of support after the invasion, and the government will continue to provide support as long as needed, says Gram.
