Outstanding Pole, on May 26, 2018, a gala was held. It is an annual event, but this year it was organized together with the Polonia Ball. There are 5 statuettes in the following categories: Culture, Personality of the Year, Science, Business and Young Pole. In this year's edition, it was also decided to distinguish three other people.

Outstanding Pole. Culture and Personality of the Year

Anna Sienkiewicz was awarded in the culture category. She could not collect the statuette in person, Mirosław Kaczmarczyk did it on her behalf. As she claims, she is happy to be awarded this statuette, but she does not intend to give up her cultural activities. He intends to continue to develop it through music.

Dominik Cybulski was awarded the statuette in the Personality of the Year category. Thanks started with wishes, because Saturday night was also Mother's Day
"To all mums who sit in the room and watch us, I wish you all the best and that you will always be happy and appreciated". He also noted that “This award is not for me, I want to share it with others. Our association helps the poor and the sick, so giving this statuette to the auction will bring more happiness to a child than standing at my desk ". High-flying education

In the science category, the person who also won the "Global Teacher Prize 2018" award was awarded, beating over 30 thousand. other candidatures. I am talking about Barbara Anna Zielonka. She graduated from English philology at the University of Silesia. In her opinion, the approach to education has completely changed since she started learning. When she was a student, the teacher only questioned and tested. Today he has the role of a mentor whose job is to teach critical thinking.

Tasty Polish business in Norway

In the Business category, the winner was a woman who founded the "Grażka Gotuje" restaurant in Stavanger, which offers Polish dishes. It also supports charity campaigns. Grażyna Skierkowska received the statuette in this category.

Young Pole - for young people whose activities have a positive impact on the environment, thanks to which a positive image of Poland is built abroad. For many years he has been the head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity branch. I am talking about Kai Szulc-Nweke.

This year, the jury decided to create a new category of awards, "A Friend of the Polish Diaspora". The statuette will be presented to the Norwegians for a special contribution to building Polish-Norwegian relations. This year it was awarded to Ole Michael Selber. He is, inter alia, the author of the most extensive Polish-Norwegian dictionary so far, which contains over 53 thousand. passwords on 1503 pages. He is also known for numerous translations of works by Polish authors into Norwegian, including, above all, such poets as Czesław Miłosz.
