Fires in landfills
The fire consumed another landfill, this time the hall in Wólka Niedźwiecka (Podkarpackie Province) turned out to be the flash point. The inspections indicate that the procedure was not accidental, because there can be no more incidents - in the last days we have dealt with at least a few fires a week. The cause of the alleged arson attacks is pure profit. Since last year, the Chinese no longer accept difficult-to-recycle waste, such as plastic, pressed foil, and chemical and detergent bottles. Fire destroys problematic or non-recyclable raw materials, which is associated with large savings for warehouse owners. Environment Minister Henryk Kowalczyk claims that the junk mafia is behind the arson.
