During the last league match between Legia Warszawa and Lech Poznań, there were fights in the stadiums. As a result, the match was interrupted because the flares thrown onto the pitch in the 6th minute and the brawls caused by the fans of Lech Poznań prevented the match from being continued. Thus, the League Committee awarded the Warsaw team for a walkover.

Round table at the National

As a result of this event, a multilateral meeting took place at the National Stadium, which was hailed as the "Round Table". The subject of the talks was the direction in which Polish football is going. It was also decided what to do with the stadium hooligans.

Fight yes, but not at any cost

The meeting was attended, among others, by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. He stated that the priority is the decision to effectively fight against the blizzard in the stadiums. However, a compromise should be found so that both the fan community and the management of Polish football are satisfied with the actions taken.

"We're going for you"

Joachim Brudziński - Minister of the Interior - added that now there will be no high-profile action like "We're going for you". Out of 50 hooligans who entered the field during the last game of LOTTO Ekstraklasa, 29 have already been detained. He also declared that the newly undertaken actions would not require any changes to the regulations. As he claims, the current law allows to draw sufficient legal consequences so that hooligans think twice before deciding to start a row.

Eliminate those who break the rules

Marcin Animucki, president of Ekstraklasa SA, appealed to the ministers not to close the stadiums. In his opinion, this is not a solution to the situation. Every effort should be made to punish individual persons responsible for the course of stadium incidents.
