The first day at school is always a big dose of stress for those who start their adventure with it. For others, it is the joy of seeing their long-lost colleagues. The first bell, the first lesson, the first break, a calendar of free days from school and changes that are an indispensable element of education.

The beginning of the school year in Poland usually begins in the first days of September. This year, considering that the first day of the month falls on Saturday, the school assembly that will start the season will take place today, i.e., September 3rd. Today in all schools in Poland There will be a ceremony to welcome first-graders, students who are taking exams to the next grades, but also those who will be leaving school this school year. The start times of the roll calls are different, but the pattern of their execution is very similar.

New experiences

For many students it is an opportunity to meet new friends or a new school. Many children today will start their adventure with education, because they will sit at the school bench for the first time and will be given a timetable for the first time. For others, it may happen that they have changed their place of residence during the summer holidays, so entering a new school is inevitable. Making new friends, but also renewing those that were not nurtured during the time off from school.

The upcoming 2018/2019 school year will probably bring many new changes, but one that is already known is the fact that this year will be the last high school exam. In the following years, there will be no lower secondary school classes, and it is worth mentioning that this year will also be the first year in which the eighth-grade exam will take place.

“Safe Route to School”

The start of the school year is not only about studying at school, but also about following the rules of getting there. As every year, the police conduct the "Safe Route to School" campaign, which includes inspections around schools and school buses. In addition, officers draw parents' attention to the fact that not every student can be an independent participant in traffic, to the child's clothing, but also to the parent who takes his or her child to school to remember to use appropriate car seats and to ensure that the child wears seat belts. Additionally, drivers should pay attention to speed limitsthat apply to every school and kindergarten.
