On May 28, 2019, two new euro banknotes in denominations of 100 and 200 will come into circulation. What will they look like and, apart from the visual change, is there any more?
"Europe" series
A series of euro banknotes called "Europa" entered into force a few years ago and new denominations with its characteristic features have been successively introduced. It is so named because two of the protections used in them represent the European porter. It is a character from Greek mythology. Why this choice? First of all, it is associated with the name of our continent, and secondly, the figure of Europe takes on a human dimension.

Two new euro banknotes
All denominations except 100 and 200 have long been issued in a new and safer version. The last two banknotes, which will be released on May 28, 2019, have new security features. Each denomination from the "Europa" series features a modernized emerald numeral, but the latter also feature the Euro symbol on the denomination digits.
Size and appearance
The new € 100 and € 200 differ in size from the previous version. Currently, their amount is 50 euros. The width of the banknote has not changed and still remains the same, and the relationship, i.e. the higher the denomination, the greater the width, has not changed either. The unification of the height of the banknotes will allow for greater user comfort. The denominations will easily fit in the devices receiving them. In addition, the banknotes will not protrude outside the wallet and will not be damaged as much.
Security
The appearance and comfort of use are not the most important issues in the creation of new banknotes. During the presentation of the new denominations, the European Central Bank and its board member, Yves Merch, emphasized that the new banknotes are perfectly protected against counterfeiters. They have machine-readable security features that are not visible to the naked eye, and new changes have been added that will be much more resistant to counterfeiting.
