The G7 foreign ministers call on Belarus to end the migration crisis on the border with Poland. Belarusians are accused of risking their lives.

"These heinous acts threaten human life," said the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan in a joint statement.

Thousands of migrants, mostly from the Middle East, are in camps at the border in the hope of reaching the EU. The West says the crisis was created by Belarus to split the EU and fight sanctions. Minsk has denied the allegations.

"We are calling on the regime to stop its aggressive campaign immediately to prevent further death and suffering," say the G7 countries.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs they added that international organizations should have immediate and unrestricted access to migrants at the border to provide humanitarian assistance.

- The actions of the Belarusian regime are an attempt to distract attention from the constant disregard of international law, fundamental freedoms and human rights.

Belarus confirmed on Wednesday that it will hold talks with the EU on the migration crisis. It is not known when the talks will take place. Earlier that day, Poland warned that the crisis may extend.

– We must prepare for the fact that the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border will not be resolved quickly. We must prepare for the long-term threat. I hope it won't take years, he said interview with Polish Radio One: Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak.
