"Ribbon Concert" - this is the name of an artistic installation created by Jerzy Janiszewski. The installation consists of a considerable amount of white and red ribbon 44 km long, which has been cut into 5200 pieces, each 8 meters long. Ribbons are fastened at a height of 18 meters. A person who has the opportunity to see the installation up close simply sees many ribbons in national colors, but from the bird's perspective they form a great portrait of Lech Wałęsa. 32 years ago, for the first time a Pole receives the Alfred Nobel Prize, which was founded for greater closeness of nations. The justification given when making the choice was, inter alia, "Lech Wałęsa's determination to solve his country's problems through negotiations and cooperation, without resorting to violence". The award was collected by the President's wife, Danuta Wałęsa and her son, Bogdan. Receiving the award, she said, "Your Majesty! Your Majesty! Distinguished representatives of the Norwegian people! You know the reasons why I was unable to come to your capital to receive this honorable award. On this solemn day, my place is among those from whom I left and to whom I belong: among Gdańsk workers, "wrote the chairman of" Solidarity ".
